Production

So as I’ve said before, I’m hoping to go on to study photography or photojournalism. Well, I’d like to announce the production of my newest project!
Today I start the filming for a short story series that I’ve been working on. The series will follow the life of a woman who has lived through troubled times, from birth to death.
Also, I’m hoping to get a website set up soon so everyone can view the series once it’s finished as well as my other photography work.
I’m extremely excited to be working on this! Can’t wait to update everyone!

It’s OK to Wear Leggings No Matter Who You Are

By now, I’m sure everyone has noticed that girls of all ages are wearing leggings or yoga pants everywhere they go. They get worn to the gym, to the grocery store, around the house, to work, and of course yoga classes. They’re too comfortable not to wear!
However, let’s take a minute to understand that all women can wear leggings and yoga pants.
I often hear the comment being made that some women shouldn’t wear leggings or yoga pants outside of their house. I’m sorry, but that is the absolute most ridiculous comment I have ever heard. Let me tell you why.
First of all, what someone is wearing on their own body, does NOT affect you in any way. Also, simply because a women doesn’t look like a Victoria’s Secret model in leggings or yoga pants, doesn’t mean they can’t wear them. In case you haven’t caught on yet, they make leggings and yoga pants for every shape and size. Therefore, every women on this planet can wear the leggings they please. However, I can agree that it is inappropriate to wear them to some places like work, a wedding, a nice dinner, etc.
I also want to explain why a lot of women these days only wear leggings or yoga pants. While yes they are much more comfortable than jeans, some need to understand that its the only clothing they feel comfortable in and that could be for a number of reasons. Mothers who are always on the run tend to wear leggings or yoga pants. They don’t worry about what they’re wearing because they’re worrying about their kids, not themselves(which is a great thing). Some women have an issue with weight stability, they’re always fluctuating between sizes and can never find a good, solid pair of jeans they feel good in. And isn’t that what most designers are trying to emphasize now? Being comfortable and feeling good in what you’re in and, ultimately, yourself? Isn’t that what this generation has been made about? They resort to leggings because it makes them feel good about what they’re wearing and themselves.
So the next time you see a woman walking down the street, strutting in leggings, don’t judge them. Just keep walking and pay no mind to what they’re wearing. It has no affect on you what they’re wearing and they shouldn’t be judged because of their choice of clothing.

The Morning Shift

This is an article for all of those hard working people who get up in the mornings to be able to provide for themselves and their families. This article will especially be for those who work retail.
Those of us who are unfortunate enough, working in retail, receive the morning shift. For some of us, it’s pretty ok because we’re morning people. Although, for people like me who are raging insomniacs and refuse to take the proper medication, it’s awful. Waking up before seven o’clock isn’t exactly my forte.
Customers who come into stores bright and early are pretty smart, though. The early bird gets the worm. But sometimes the early bird is an extremely cranky one who can’t find their worm and blames it on every employee they can. Let’s take a brief moment to agree that some customers shouldn’t come into stores before ten o’clock. They’ll hem and haw at you as well as huff and puff if you can’t find what they’re looking for or complete their transaction quick enough.
Another thing about working the morning shift is phone calls. Why does anyone use the phone at eight o’clock in the morning? I hardly ever use the phone anymore, anyhow. My phone talking skills are quite rusty since all of this newfangled technology has come out in recent years. Needless to say, I’m awkward when I speak on the telephone. When someone calls the store, I answer with the shpeil taped on the top of the land line and that’s as far as I can get without stumbling all over my own words.
My next question, however, is why should I complain about the morning shift? Who am I to complain about waking up at seven in the morning to go to work and essentially provide for myself. There are millions of great, friendly, hard working Americans who do it everyday. There are also millions of great, friendly Americans who are stuck in the unemployment line.
I get to work sometimes and people will complain about it being so early, including myself. You might also find yourself taking part in this. However, I think we need to be more appreciative of the morning shift. We’re the lucky ones who landed the job and are making minimum wage, or more, and are able to bring the bread to our own table. While bread may be the only thing we can afford off an hours worth of work at minimum wage, we’re still bringing something home.

An Introduction to Myself

Hi!
If you’re reading this, congratulations to me! Someone IS reading my blog. Let me tell you about myself. My name is Sydney. I’m in my senior year of high school and I can’t wait to get the heck out of it. My goal is to go to college in the big city and study photojournalism. I have the photography part down pretty solid. The journalism part, however, not so solid. Which is one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog.
The other reason I wanted to start a blog was because I realized that I have a lot of opinions. I might have too many opinions but who cares? That’s the point of a blog, right? To write about your opinions along with other things like your life and pop culture.
So this is the introduction to my blog. I’ll tell you my opinions and how I really feel about them. And I definitely won’t hold anything back because then what’s the point of sharing. Welcome to The Daily Truths😊
